About Stafford
Stafford is a small community, located in Fort Bend
County, Texas with a small portion in Harris County.
Stafford has no city property tax and the lowest
sales tax in the Houston area (0.5% less than all of
the surrounding towns). CNN Money Magazine included
Stafford on its list of the best places to live and
launch, on the 36th place. The city had its name
after William Stafford, who established a plantation
with a cane mill and a horse-powered cotton gin.
Stafford was incorporated as a city in 1956.

and First Street Park. The largest one is Stafford
City Park and it covers 9 acres of land. If you
visit this park you can play here baseball,
softball, basketball or soccer.
Fort Bend Sports Fields, Aerodrome Hockey Rink,
Stafford Convention and Performing Arts Center, and
the Sugar Land Airport are all close.
